Events and entertainment marketing

Culture Cartel is a Toronto agency that does events and entertainment marketing: event properties, tours, trade shows, artist campaigns and sponsorship. We took over F1inTO, Toronto’s Formula 1 watch party, and built it into the city’s biggest race day, raised more than $5 million in partnerships for the Migos Culture Tour in South Africa, and led the Decorex 25th anniversary campaign. We handle the brand, the commercial model and the room itself.

Events are brands. Treat them like one.

Most events get marketed like a date on a calendar. Post the lineup, buy some ads, hope. The ones people talk about the next day are built differently: a name, a look and a reason to belong, a commercial model that pays for it, and an operation that holds up when the crowd arrives.

We work across all three. Brand, money, room.

Proof

F1inTO: taken over, built into Toronto’s biggest race day

We took F1inTO over and built it into the biggest race day in Toronto. It is Culture Cartel’s own Formula 1 watch party property: brand, identity, f1into.ca and go.f1into.ca, race-by-race content and the race-day experience itself, with partners including Monster Energy, Side Launch and The Loose Moose. It anchors Culture Cartel Live’s motorsport division. Its next chapter, GRID+CLUB, grows the same room into a membership and is launching soon. See Live.

Smirnoff x Migos: the commercial engine under a stadium tour

Mabala Noise brought the Migos Culture Tour to South Africa and appointed us to make it work. We raised more than $5 million in partnerships with MTV Base, BET and telecom providers, ran the TV, radio and digital campaign, branded the stadiums, and handled security, venue control and hospitality pricing. Read the case.

Decorex 25: from milestone to movement

For Decorex’s 25th anniversary we read the 25 years as authority, not nostalgia. A prestige anniversary identity, creator and influencer partnerships, and a repositioning from trade show to design festival.

Africa Travel Week: a campaign people carried

At Africa Travel Week the #ChangeMatters campaign was a tote bag engineered from scratch. A sustainability message attendees could hold, use and share, well beyond the show floor.

Artists and labels

We built the creative department behind Mabala Noise: workflow, standards, campaign frameworks, release art and event brands like Crash My Party and the Africa Unite Tour. For Nasty C we provided creative direction across releases and The Ivyson Tour, including the Bad Hair Day artwork.

Questions

Asked and
answered.

Do you market events, or run them too?

Both. For the Migos Culture Tour we ran stadium security, venue operational control and hospitality pricing alongside the media campaign. For F1inTO we own the property outright and run race days ourselves. Marketing and operations are planned together.

Can you help us find sponsors?

Yes. We secured more than $5 million in brand partnerships for the Migos Culture Tour, including MTV Base, BET and leading telecom providers. F1inTO runs with partners including Monster Energy, Side Launch and The Loose Moose. Sponsors buy an audience and a plan, so we build both before we pitch.

How far ahead should we start?

For a new event property or a major show, start three to six months out: concept, brand, partners, permits and ticketing all take time. A campaign for an existing event can move faster. Our Live Event Concept Sprint gets you from blank page to a costed concept in three weeks.

Is your events work in Toronto or international?

Both. F1inTO is a Toronto property. Our tour, label, artist and trade show work, including Mabala Noise, Nasty C, Decorex and Africa Travel Week, was delivered in South Africa. The craft is the same. We now run it from Toronto.

What does events and entertainment marketing cost?

Scoped per project. Entry points like the Live Event Concept Sprint and the Brand Audit are fixed in scope; pricing on inquiry. Production and venue costs are budgeted separately from our fees.
