Culture Cartel is a Toronto brand activation agency that puts your product in front of the right people, in the place where they decide. We plan and run pop-ups, dealer and retail activations, sampling and sponsorship activations, and we tie each one back to sales, leads or content you can use afterwards.
Brands we have worked with
Some products sell on a spec sheet. Most do not. A vehicle sells when someone sits in it. A battery mower sells when a sceptical buyer hears how quiet it is. A drink sells when it is in a hand at the right moment. Brand activation is the work of engineering that moment, at the right place and at a scale that pays back.
Start with the buyer’s day, not the brand’s calendar. For Polaris in Southern Africa we put the machines in the environments where people ride, so the experience did the selling. For Club Car the activations had to serve two very different buyers, golf courses and commercial operators, under one set of global standards.
Give people something to take home. At Africa Travel Week the activation was a tote bag. A durable, well-designed alternative to single-use plastic, handed to every attendee. It turned a sustainability message into something people carried for years.
Equip the people who sell. Many activations happen at a dealer or retailer, not at a festival. For EGO we built retail activations and show stands that gave dealers a way to explain battery technology with confidence.
Rights holders and sponsors both need activation to work. We sit on both sides of that table. F1inTO, the Toronto Formula 1 watch party property we own, runs with partners including Monster Energy, Side Launch and The Loose Moose. We know what a partner needs to see by the end of a season to sign again, and we build activations around that from race one.
A good activation is a format, not a stunt. We design kits, staff briefs and reporting so the second, fifth and twentieth run cost less and work better than the first. That matters for brands with dealer networks across Ontario or the country.
Bigger, owned experiences sit under experiential marketing. If the activation needs paid media behind it, see advertising. To make sure the content travels after the day, pair it with social media marketing.
Week 1
Where is your buyer when they are most open to trying you? A trail, a showroom, a race day, a festival gate. We pick the moment first.
1 to 2 weeks
What people do, hold or try, and what they leave with. Plus the lead or content mechanic behind it.
2 to 4 weeks
Fit-out, product, print, staff briefing and logistics, built to run more than once if needed.
Activation days
On the ground with your team, adjusting the setup as the crowd shows us what works.
Within 2 weeks
Leads, trials, content and partner exposure, reported against the goal we set at the start.
An event is something people come to. An activation goes to them. It is usually shorter, sits inside someone else’s moment, and asks the audience to try, touch or take something.
Yes, and it is often where the money is wasted. A logo on a banner is not activation. We build the reason for fans to engage with your brand inside the property you paid for.
A simple pop-up or retail activation can be ready in four to six weeks. Multi-site dealer programs take longer because kits need to be produced and staff briefed in every location.
Mostly it comes down to locations, days on the ground and how much is built. We scope every program against its goal before quoting. Pricing on inquiry.
We brief and manage the activation team and keep a senior lead on site. For large programs we partner with trusted staffing suppliers and say so up front.
